It’s in the Bag: Community Tips for Organization on the Go
hope&plum knows you like to be hands-free. So not only do we make comfortable, stylish baby carriers, but we also make bags of all sizes in the same fabrics and prints you know and love to keep you organized! This month, we asked our community how they use our bags.
We hope this post inspires you to use your bag in new ways or to add a bag to your shopping cart. With all the wonderful ways to use them, you’ll love any of our bags for years to come!
Carry the Carriers
Many of our community members use their flat bottom bags to store their carriers. You’ll be surprised what you can fit in one of these babies!
Alexandra Cassidy: “My wildflower flat bottom bag and terrazzo lark…or my ring sling are what go in my flat bottom bag!”
Bec Lee: “I use my flat bottom bag to hold my carriers (ring slings or Larks).”
Anna Charles: “My Wildflower bag holds my Obsidian Lark, Ginger Lark Pocket, & custom drool pads. I just acquired a Daze RS and cannot decide on what flat bottom bag print to get this time!”
Morgan Gormley: “Waiting (not so) patiently for my fanny pack to arrive today! I own 2 flat bottom bags (feral and obsidian) with another one coming too (lilac)! I use them to stash my RS or Lark along with teethers and a small rattle for my 3 month old! I love that I can pack my carriers in the bag and it fits nicely in my diaper bag!”

Diapers, Wipes, and More
Another common use for our bags is to help organize wipes, diapers, and other baby needs. Some use flat bottom bags inside their diaper bags to keep all of their diapering needs in one place, while others use a fanny pack or Lark pocket to hold one diaper and a few wipes for short hikes or other trips when a full diaper bag is just too much.
Ari Trow: “I love using a tote bag to hold our library books and the flat bottom bag to hold diapers and wipes.”
Lorrin Ashley: “FBB lover 🙂 We've stored pump parts, snacks, a single diaper, some wipes and bink. Travel bag for HBA items. Current kid projects (aka patching some pants) and of course, for stashing carriers on the go!”
Nat Dudley: “The fanny pack is my short hike nappy/diaper bag. It’s the perfect size to fit a spare nappy, a small tube of sudocrem, a wet bag, a folded puppy pee pad as a change mat, and a tiny pack of wipes.”
Pump It Up
Still others have found their flat bottom bags to perfectly fit their breast pumps and accessories. And even an extra snack or two to keep them going during a pumping session.
Lauryn Yaw: “My fbb is perfect for my wearables!”
Andrea Bradford: “As a pumping mom, my momcozy m5, an empty bottle, and some snacks fit perfectly in my FBB!”
Purse Schmurse!
One of our members uses two different bag styles in creative ways to replace their purse.
Bec Lee: “I use a fanny pack as my daily purse. Work badge clipped on to the straps, keys and wallet in the front pocket. A Lark pocket holding small things: bandaids, stickers for the kids, ear buds, ear phones (yes, because wired things don't require me to remember you charge them), and other small knick knacks. Two phones (one is a work phone) next to the Lark pocket (iPhone 13 in the picture). Fun bonus is this fanny is filled to be firm enough to be a little supportive hip seat for the toddler in a pinch. Also, the fanny can fit in the pocket in front of the seat on the airplane which is really useful for me when I travel.”
Bec Lee: “Lark pocket as feminine hygiene holder: couple of tampons, pads, and an extra underwear. This usually lives in my back pack. It's so nice to run my hand through the elastics and have the pocket sit on my wrist when actually in the public stalls so I don't have to put it on anything and I can still have two hands.”
Arts & Crafts
Our members want to have their supplies at hand whenever creativity strikes or they find a moment to craft.
Jozie O'Brien: “Well right now there’s a bag in my fbb 😂 I’m crocheting a toddler purse for my friends 2 year old ❤️”
Jackie Sablitz: “Right now my solo FBB bag is my scrap collector for my yarn! … and the hider of two unfinished ear warmers 😂 But no joke- within minutes of receiving this bag brain was overwhelmed with all the ideas for it. Planning another order of quite a few of these FBB’s!!!”
Nat Dudley: “I grabbed the ginger bag on a whim when I ordered my first sling and best impulse buy ever. It’s so much prettier in person, and it fits my ring sling and a small knitting project. As a bonus is complements arches in a totally unexpected way.”
Bags to Get the Job Done
A few members use them to carry supplies for their jobs or to do some serious kid hair-styling.
Bec Lee: “Fanny pack as my dog walking and (slow) jogging pack - poop bags, carbineer, and garage door opener in the front pocket. A silicon zip bag with dog treats for training and a ball in the main pocket +/- my phone if it's not in my hand. I've run the leash through the waist band sometimes to use two hands to pick up poop if I need to as a temp way to hold my dog in place.”
Rebekah Landis: “Two months ago, I didn't understand the hype of the bags. What could be so special about them? Then I received my first with my mystery box and now I'm hooked! The size of them is unique and so versatile. I have 4 currently - one to store each of my Larks (I even found a matching Sunflower!), one for my RS, and the 4th I use to store my daughter's hair stuff! It's the perfect fit! Now I want to get one for each kid and myself 😅”
