You’re within the warranty window, and it sounds like it could be a manufacturing defect. Email us with your order number and a photo of the issue, and we’ll work with you to find the best resolution.
Your warranty window has closed (1 year for carriers, 60 days for accessories). It may still be eligible for our repair program depending on the issue. Email us with a photo and we’ll let you know your options.
Waist buckle repairs are a flat $25 and include return shipping both ways. Email us to get started, and we’ll send you a prepaid shipping label. Turnaround is usually 7–10 days once we receive your carrier.
We can repair stitching on carriers as long as it isn’t in a structural area. Email us with a description of the issue and some photos, and we’ll get back to you with the next steps.
We repair what we safely can, but some issues (head pads, structural components, load-bearing straps) can’t be repaired because of safety concerns. Email us with a photo and we’ll let you know if it’s fixable and what it would cost.
Alterations (including dyeing, swapping rings or buckles, or removing tags) void the warranty, and we aren’t able to repair altered carriers.
Our warranty is exclusive to the original purchaser and isn’t transferable, even if the carrier came with a gift receipt from a resale. We’re sorry we can’t help here, but thank you for carrying hope&plum!

What's covered under warranty?
Our warranty covers issues that are a clear manufacturing defect, confirmed by our team. It's available to the original purchaser with valid proof of purchase.
Warranty windows:
- Carriers: 1 year from date of purchase
- Accessories and non-carriers (drool pads, storage bags, etc.): 60 days from date of purchase
Because our carriers are handmade, slight variations in appearance or small differences that don't affect use or safety are part of what makes each carrier one-of-a-kind. These aren't considered defects.
What's NOT covered?
- Alterations (including dyeing, swapping rings or buckles, or removing tags) void the warranty.
- Secondhand purchases are not eligible for warranty claims. Coverage stays with the original purchaser.
- Normal wear & tear is not a defect.
- Damage from improper washing or care isn't covered. Please follow the care instructions provided with your carrier.
- Accidental damage may be eligible for repair (see below), but isn't a warranty claim.
How do I submit a warranty claim?
Email us at hello@hopeandplum.co with your order number, date of purchase, product name, a description of the issue, photos showing the concern, and proof of purchase (or gift receipt, if it was a gift).
We'll work with you to find the best resolution — replacement, repair, or credit.
What can you repair?
Our repair program is available to U.S.-based customers and covers a limited set of non-manufacturing issues:
- Waist buckle replacement: the most common repair we do.
- Stitching on carriers: as long as the issue isn't in a structural, load-bearing area.
- Other repairs: email us with a photo and we'll let you know if we can help.
For safety reasons, we aren't able to repair load-bearing straps, body panels, or anything where a repair would compromise structural integrity.
How much do repairs cost?
- Waist buckle repair: $25 flat, includes return shipping both ways.
- Other repairs: email us for a quote. Pricing and shipping vary by repair.
Repair and shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
How long do repairs take?
Typical turnaround is 7–10 days from when we receive your carrier. Email us first to start the process — we'll confirm the repair and send a prepaid shipping label.
Turnaround can run longer during peak seasons or if parts need to be sourced. We'll always give you an estimate when we confirm the repair.
I received my carrier as a gift — am I covered?
Yes! If you have a gift receipt or the original proof of purchase, you're covered under our warranty within the 1-year window.
If the carrier was purchased secondhand (resale, hand-me-down without a gift receipt, etc.), the warranty doesn't transfer. Coverage is exclusive to the original purchaser.
Is Almost Perfect covered?
Yes. Almost Perfect carriers are sold with known cosmetic imperfections. Those specific imperfections aren't covered, but your Almost Perfect carrier still has our 1-year warranty against any other manufacturing defects that appear after purchase.
How should I care for my carrier?
Proper care is essential to your carrier's longevity. Please refer to our care instructions for full washing and care guidance. Failure to follow those instructions may result in damage that could void your warranty.
We recommend gentle washing and air drying to preserve the integrity of your carrier.
