Meet the founders

owned and led by women

We’re Skye and Mallory, best friends, moms, and the founders of hope&plum. In 2018, we started making baby carriers because we wanted comfort, a fit that worked for our bodies, and styles we actually wanted to wear.

Today, we’re still independently owned and led by women. No private equity. Just a stubborn belief in people over profits, quality over shortcuts, and baby carriers we’re proud to put our names on.

We started with ring slings. In 2023, we introduced the Lark Baby Carrier, our own original buckle carrier design. Today, the lineup includes newborn carriers, baby wraps, the Lark Kid Carrier, and Meh Dai carriers. Because there’s more than one way to carry, and no single carrier needs to be everyone’s everything.

What hasn’t changed? We’re particular. About natural fiber blends. About fit. About who makes our products and how they’re treated. Our sewing partner is within a mile of our Minnesota warehouse, and we visit every week. ‘Who made this?’ should have an actual answer.

And yes, we have opinions about private equity. We’d rather build a baby carrier company around the people using our products than around making it attractive to someone who wants to buy it.

So we’re building the business we want: thoughtful baby carriers, real conversations, and owners whose names and faces you know.
